Growing from crack in cliff face ca. 75 meters NW. of the lookout access road. Well shaded but moisture is somewhat limited. Slope: About 100 degrees; facing south. Community: Western Yellow Pine Forest.
Soil deposits in the crack are very shallow, show a heterogeneous mixture of particle sizes, and have derived in situ from Bill Williams Mt. Dacite and organic detritus. Cliff face is dacite.
