Description:
Culms tall, approx. 1.5 meters; blades basal, long, narrow, stiff, erect-ascending, and very rough on the ventral side and with about 8 closely-spaced ridges

Vegetative/dried culms
Notes:
Only this single colony growing closely together was observed in the area; species in Central Wasatch Front is normally described as occurring at much higher elevations than here, but taxon is known from valley locations in adjoining Utah Co. along or near the Jordan River
