Habitat: Grazed mixed conifer/grass-forb openings on montane ridges/valleys on Henry Mountains volcanic lacolithis-uplift montane range. NW aspect, 6° slope.
Substrate: Very dark gray-brown (10YR 3/2) colored clay-loam soils.
Associated Species: Populus tremuloides, Picea engelmanii, Abies concolor, Abies lasiocarpa, Juniperus communis, Juniperus scopulorum, Symphoricarpos oreophilus, Rosa woodsii, Eriogonum umbellatum, Lupinus sericeus, Poa secunda, Potentilla sp., Agoseris glauca
Description: Plants about 200 on 1 A; 3 feet tall.
Reproductive Condition: in bloom, fruit bearing
Notes: Seed collected from 60 plants; to be used for general research, genetic studies, long-term storage & site rehab. 'Bristly cryptantha.' Voucher for: Seeds of Success program.
