Locality: United States, Arizona, Yuma County, Tinajas Altas Region, Lechuguilla Valley along Camino del Diablo where it crosses the south end of Coyote Wash; valley drainage splits here, flowing northward into Coyote Wash and southward into La Joya drainages into Mexico.

Habitat: Locally dense tangle mesquite, shrubs, vines, and annual and perennial ground cover.
Substrate: Soil clayish and moist.
Associated Species: Prosopis glandulosa, Ambrosia ambrosioides, Ambrosia salsola, Lycium macrodon, Ziziphus obtusifolia, Encelia farinosa, Encelia frutescens, Funastrum heterophyllum, Stephanomeria pauciflora, Hilaria rigida, Sphaeralcea emoryi, Hesperocallis undulata, (margin of mesquites); Amsinckia spp., Aristida adscensionis, Cryptantha angustifolia, Datura discolor, (dry "skeletons"), Erodium texanum, Euphorbia polycarpa, Festuca octoflora, Lactuca serriola, Lepidium lasiocarpum, Logfia arizonica, Oenothera primiveris, Pectocarya heterocarpa, Pectocarya platycarpa, Plantago ovata.
Description: Locally common in open areas adjacent to mesquite "forest"
