Habitat: On terrace by arroyo and adjacent slope; sandy soil.
Description: Perennial; about 12 stems from each caudex; stems erect or leaning, widely branched, the central one definitely cymose, 3-5 dm. tall. Flowers pure white, 8-11 cm. broad; stamens about 160; plants in full flower and immature fruit.
