Prev. id by herbarium of the University of California as Hymenopappus lugens Greene (matches H. gloriosus Heller) Perennial; rays none, disk whitish, anthers light yellow, native. Root used by Hopis as an emetic and treatment for toothache. Attached to warriors bandolier. Probable annotator, Lehr.
