Habitat: Open montane sagebrush steppe with trees just above this elevation.

Associated Species: Artemisia tridentata ssp. vaseyana, Tetradymia canescens, Juniperus, Pinus, Pseudotsuga, Purshia tridentata

Description: Small sagebrush < 0.5 m tall. Moderately divided gray leaves, broadly cuneate. Leaf divisions less than 1/3 blade length. Narrow inflorescences with relatively large widely spaced capitula. Leaf samples in water fluoresced weakly under UV light.
