Locally common to frequent on sagebrush slopes, often with Penstemon watsonii. Plants glaucous; inflorescences secund; sepals spreading; corolla ventricose-ampliate, 2-ridged ventrally, the upper lip arched, the lower spreading, sky blue, the palate whitish with whitish hairs; staminode golden-yellow bearded, included; longer pari of anthers exserted or at the orifice.
