[Sect 19 in Banner Co.] Buffalo Creek State Wildlife Management Area: vicinity of Windmill Trail. Within area bounded by points at 41.68842°N, 103.58657°W, 41.70093°N, 103.59728°W, and 41.70288°N, 103.57481°W. Weedy grasslands and riparian areas and tall, primarily N and S-facing cliffs of erodable, non-calcareous, sedimentary rocks of Tertiary age above unnamed tributary to Gering Canal. Secondary riparian forest with Acer negundo, Celtis occidentalis, Juniperus scopulorum, Salix amygdaloides and scattered large Populus deltoides along creek; highly disturbed grasslands largely dominated by non-native species on lower slopes; Achnatherum hymenoides-Elymus lanceolatus-Hesperostipa comata mixed-grass prairie with scattered Artemisia spp. and Rhus trilobata on upper slopes; scattered Juniperus scopulorum and Pinus ponderosa on ridgetops and in ravines, with more mesic, N-facing ravines becoming rather densely wooded.
Common. Mature fruit taken from below second individual. [Both exsiccata and boxed specimen prepared.]
