Habitat: S-facing rocky slope in scrub grassland.
Associated Species: Opuntia santa-rita, Lagascea decipiens, Fouquieria splendens, Haplophyton cimicidum, Prosopis velutina, Eysenhardtia orthocarpa, Abutilon abutiloides, Ferocactus wislizeni, Trixis californica, Commicarpus scandens, Calliandra eriophylla, Ayenia filiformis, Tecoma stans var. angustata, Hibiscus biseptus, Dasylirion wheeleri, Heteropogon contortus, Melinis repens, Bothriochloa barbinodis, Digitaria insularis.
Description: Perennial vine; leaves and stems with appressed hairs; leaves 1.5–2.5 cm long, green tinged with brown, lanceolate to hastate; flowers 4–5 mm wide, brown with white hairs on inner surface of petals; fruits mottled brown and light green, with scattered warts. At least 12 plants present, all heavily browsed, perhaps by cattle.
