Habitat: General collecting along canyon bottom and slopes. Granitic rocky slopes and rocky sandy canyon bottoms. With some nice benches above canyon. Growing in sand. Plant associates are; Larrea tridentata, Ambrosia dumosa, Fouquieria splendens, Opuntia basilaris, Encelia farinosa, Olneya tesota, Acacia greggii, Cercidium floridum, Ephedra aspera, and Hyptis emoryi. Plus many annuals.
