Plants desiccating and turning brown-yellow-purple; 22 dm tall, stem about 2.5 cm wide, clasping sheath which opens up to a width of about 1.25 cm and is 24 cm long, lower leaves serrate, triternate and variously lobed; seeds 5mm long x 3mm wide, elliptical, appearing glabrous, lime-green in color but variable, mildly aromatic when crushed, ribbed

Occurrence of at least several hundred plants which continue down the drainage past a dense growth of Typha to a low elevation of 5675 ft. some 85 meters to the southwest, and also along the drainage above that is mostly shaded continuing north for about 500 meters up to an elevation of just under 5900 feet
