Shallow standing water thick with Lemna in freshwater marsh; partly shaded by tall forbs and grasses
In order of proximity: Lemna minor, Bidens frondosa, Phalaris arundinacea, Schoenoplectus acutus, Epilobium glandulosum, Nasturtium officinale, Ranunculus sceleratus, Triglochin maritima, Sagittaria cuneata
Partially submerged, delicate/small and somewhat translucent yellow flowers with open throat and only somewhat red-dotted; several flowers were detached and floating on Lemna; mostly oval leaves, mid to upper cauline leaves sessile, some leaves below petiolate; stems and undersides of leaves occasionally pubescent
Only two plants observed (so collection was not made). Despite many years of past visits, this is the first time any "Mimulus" species has been observed here.
