Habitat: A railroad (currently used andmaintained), runs almost the entire length. Within 20m on either side of the tracks is almost all herbaceous (weedy but diverse). Further from tracks there are many tamarack trees and shrubs including some autumn olive. In wooded prairie fen with almost too much canopy cover. Tamarack (90%) and Toxicodendron vernix(10%) make up canopy at densities of 3-10 trees per m2. Understory has prairie fen species. Ground +/- even, wet and covered in spongy moss and Carex.
Description: Population - Taller than usual (2m), one has red leaves, fruits mostly spent.
