Habitat: Frequent in area, emersed on moist clay and limestone gravel along perennial stream spring run as well as submersed in clear floating water of stream itself. Associates include Chloracantha spinosa, Schoenoplectus sp., Eleocharis rostellata, Najas marina, Potamogeton illinoensis and Baccharis sp.
