Habitat: Common in seasonally wet claypan savanna on soils mapped as Orelia fine sandy loam, in coastal prairie pasture on +/- level surface underlain by Beaumont Formation. Associates include Cienfuegosia drummondii, Desmanthus virgatus, Digitaria ciliaris, Dyssodia tenuiloba, Eriochloa contracta, Euthamia pulverulenta, Evolvulus sericeus, Gutierrezia texana, Helenium amarum, Isocoma drummondii, Iva annua, Lycium carolinianum, Panicum hians, Sida ciliaris, Sporobolus pyramidatus, and Tridens congestus.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
