Prairie fen surrounded by small wood pockets and agricultural fields. Several vegetaion zones: sedge meadow, wooded, marl. Most previlent species include Cyperaceae, Dasiphora fruticosa, Cornus, Symplocarpus foetidus, and Typha. Some Phalaris arundinacea near woods on north section of fen. Many small creeks zig-zag fen (less than 1m wide). Woody cover includes Larix laricina, Betula pumila, other birches, and Toxicodendron vernix. In east central portion of prairie fen within 2m of the meeting of two of the larger streams (1m across), about 100m west of hunting blind and cement pillar. Area dominated by Dasiphora fruticosa, Schoenoplectus, and Andropogon gerardii. Shrubs uncommon for 40m2. Ground with small hummocks.
Flower - raceme arrangement, glabrous peduncles, white and yellow tepals, bracts at each flower. Population - occasional, usually around open water. Grows singly often near Allium, Solidago ohioensis, Lobelia kalmii, and Dasiphora fruticosa.
