Canyon in steep, bouldery, granite hills; coarse, sandy, decomposed granite soil; desert scrub & microphyll woodland with Olneya, Parkinsonia florida, Senegalia greggii, Fouquieria, Bebbia juncea, Encelia farinosa, Cylindropuntia bigelovii, C. munzii, etc.

Notes:
Uncommon perennial on wash benches and sand bars; white petals, yellow-green stamens. Only this one plant with open fls. Several in bud.
