Broad, open, willow dominated, with mosaic of aspen, mountain big sagebrush, subalpine fir, and lodgepole pine on adjacent slopes. South aspect; soil 2 decimeter silt over gravel; common with Salix lemmonii, S. drummondiana, Carex rostrata, Pinus contorta, Populus tremuloides, and Veratrum californicum; plants 3 meter tall.
