Muddy roadside at edge of spruce-fir forest; and moist, shady roadside bank with relatively tall vegetation. Associated with Pedicularis bracteosa.
Petals pink, deeply notched. Hypanthium shallow, < petals. Seeds/ovaries with tuft of hairs. Stamens 8, of 2 lengths. Plants growing from slender rhizomes with turions. Leaves ovate/lanceolate, sessile, with entire or minutely toothed margins.
