in deep humus, upland Thuja-Betula papyrifera forest, in region of Ostrya virginiana-Acer rubrum transition to maple-beech forest, with Acetae rubra, Aralia nudicaulis, Aster macrophyllus. BER. 200mi range extension eastward, this sp. previously known in the state from only 6 colls. made in Batfield Co. Osmorhizas are very common throughout the forest in the island, but I didn't note sp. present nor their freq.- TSC 8/1972.
