Elevation: 2378 meters (7800ft)
Habitat: montane open ponderosa pine slope
Associated Species: Pinus ponderosa, Pontentilla drymocallis fissa, P. effusa, Artemisia grigida and A. campestri, Arctostaphylis spp., Symphyotricum porteri
Description: parasite of ponderosa pine, witches broom on branches; internodes less than 4 times as long as wide; light green to copper in color, but turns black when seeds explode
