Flat, open woodland of Pinus edulis and Juniperus monosperma at base of sandstone hill on edge of prairie, with Bouteloua gracilis, Artemisia frigida, Dysphania graveolens, and Portulaca oleracea.

Corolla white, 5-lobed, lobes spreading to reflexed; stamens 5, anthers yellow-orange, slightly exserted; stems pale orange; parasitic on Portulaca oleracea; locally common. Photographed.
