Locality: United States, Utah, San Juan, Indian Creek drainage along Lockhart Basin road 4 mi N of hwy UT 211 (Squaw Flats road), just N of major oxbow.

Habitat: Along road on W facing, open bench above creek & below cliffs in loose sandy soil with Coleogyne ramosissimum, Ephedra torreyana, Gutierrezia sarothrae, Anisantha tectorum, Abronia fragrans, Hymenopappus filifolius, Lupinus pusillus; may clump forming stems from deeply buried caudex; banner white, wings pale violet; abundant locally.
Substrate: Rico limestone. Substrate of soil derived from Cedar Mesa sandstone of bounding cliffs & resting on Elephant Can. Form., limestone member.
Associated Species: Coleogyne ramosissimum, Ephedra torreyana, Gutierrezia sarothrae, Anisantha tectorum, Abronia fragrans, Hymenopappus filifolius, Lupinus pusillus
