Quercus chrysolepis forest; open places on roadsides and nearby fuelbreak support species not seen in undisturbed forest.
Flowering & Fruiting
Abundant in uncommon patches. Perennial herb, spreading by rhizomes and forming dense stands. Patches in partially shaded oak forest. Also observed in stream channel to N, at c. 4200 ft. elevation. Calyx tubes green, tips pale pink, corolla white to pale pink.
