On floodplain bench of drainage in Coleogyne ramosissum community with scattered Sabina osteosperma and Achnatherum humenoides, Eriogonum inflatum, Chaetopappa ericoides, Astragalus nuttalliana, Stephanomeria pauciflora; also weith G. microcephala which is much more common. Permian Cutler Form.
plants forming small dense clumps of stems branched from base; flowers bright yellow; 5 raysed; leaves bright green uncommon locally.
