Habitat: Rock outcrop in shade of Quercus oblongifolia, along seasonal drainage.
Associated Species: Quercus oblongifolia, Erythrina flabelliformis, Dodonaea viscosa, Celtis pallida, Prosopis velutina, Gossypium thurberi, Fouquieria splendens, Eysenhardtia orthocarpa, Viguiera dentata var. lancifolia, Dasylirion wheeleri, Abutilon reventum, Setaria macrostachya, Aristida ternipes.
Description: Shrub, 1.5 m tall x 3 m wide; pads smooth, to 50 cm long x 30 cm wide, with few spines; flowers bright yellow.
