Large fen with high quality portions on eastern edge. Beautiful large Larix laricina trees shelter very diverse ribbons of fen. Large west portion is dominated by weedy species including Agrostis gigantea. Phalaris arundinacea dominates the fen/woodland interfaces. Bordered on north by creek and on south by woodland upland. Grassy sedge meadow portion of prairie fen. About 10m south of lower depression/flood zone of creek; lots of Eutrochium maculatum and old 2013 inflorescences; ground lightly hummocked and inundated between hummocks. Carex stricta common but not dominant. Agrostis gigantea is the most common grass. Pycnanthemum virginicum common. Dasiphora fruticosa close by. No shrubs in area.
