Fen on county and private land and managed by The Nature Conservancy. Grand River travels through center of fen (4m wide). Near river area dominated by Cyperaceae, Typha, and Dasiphora fruticosa; shrubs of Rubus and Cornus near woodland upland edges. In south-central portion of prairie fen, 20m north of southern border, 30m east of north-south tributary. Area is marshy-pond patch surrounded by Cornus and Rubus. Area invaded by Typha and Phalaris arundinacea. Schoenoplectus pungens, Carex hystericina, and Asteraceae are abundant native vegetation. Ground wet and puddles in footsteps.
Population - Common, not dominant. Beginning to flower. Tall individuals 1.5m tall. Seen with Typha on west soil as well as Symphyotrichum firmum and Eupatorium perfoliatum.
