Fen on county and private land and managed by The Nature Conservancy. Grand River travels through center of fen (4m wide). Near river area dominated by Cyperaceae, Typha, and Dasiphora fruticosa; shrubs of Rubus and Cornus near woodland upland edges. In central portion of prairie fen, 60m south of Grand River, 5m east of 5m tall Larix laricina, 10m north of Cornus foemina grove. Area dominated by Cyperaceae and Asteraceae with Iris, Dasiphora fruticosa, and Cornus. Some Lythrum salicaria invasion. Ground hummocky and water puddles in footsteps.
Population - Common. Flowering in area, clumped. 2-3 shrubs per 1m2 for 20m2. Seen with Eutrochium maculatum, Symphyotrichum firmum, Carex, and Thelypteris palustris.
