Prairie fen mostly round in shape with large Typha pond/stream in center. Surrounded by wooded upland. Encroachment by shrubs (Cornus, Spiraea alba, Toxicodendron vernix), especially from the north. There are large patches of Typha, Lythrum salicaria, and Phalaris arundinacaea in the northeast. The northwest has amazingly low number of invasives seen. No signs of management but many tracks of trucks or ATVs. Also, many invasives (Phalaris arundinacea and Lythrum salicaria) along creek. Some Frangula alnus in the southwest. In eastern portion of prairie fen, 40m northwest of stream, 25m south of Cornus dominated depression area, a cedar tree (3m tall with browsed bottom) 20m to the west. In Cyperaceae and Dasiphora fruticosa dominated area. A few Asteraceae (Solidago ohioensis, S. uliginosa) and grasses present. Few shrubs over 2m tall for 50m2. Ground wet and hummocky.
Population - Dominant vegetation in area. Flowering on moist soil with Carex, Schoenoplectus, and Asteraceae.
