Large north-south fen; multiple ownser; many arms; large expanses of Carex stricta. Fen elongated and amoeboid with many small armas and large amounts of edge. Oak uplands often inserted intro prairie fen as peninsulas. Oftern large amounts of open water due to beaver flooding. Asjacent to railroad that runs the entire length of the fen. Eleocharis rostellata and Dasiphora fruticosa dominated flat on edge of lake. Many Larix laricina trees in area. Ground moist , other common species include Solidago uliginosa, Lobelia kalmii, Liatris spicata, Rudbeckia fulgida, Pycnanthemum virginicum, and Andropogon gerardii. Quality strip of fen between lake and wooded fen.
