Fen curves around east and south portions of the lake. Many "No Trespassing" signs posted. Mostly herbaceous Cyperaceae with shrubs on borders. Actively maintained by The Nature Conservancy. Fay Lake Road borders on east and south side fo fen. 15m +/- north of access road, 10m +/- south of dried up bay. Sedge meadow dominated by Carex, Dasiphora fruticosa, ferns, and encroached by many shrubs and saplings (Rosaceae, Rhamnus, Toxicodendron vernix, aspen, tamarack), less shrubs as you near the lake. Ground appears to have had many rivulets, but now dried up, tussocky, moist ground.
Population - Common in area (several within 10m2), 2-3 saplings in quadrat.
