Paleozoic sediments. Disturbed sandy site just NW of junction; with Castilleja integra, Picadenia richardsonis, Senecio spartioides, Machaeranthera bigelovii, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Artemisia frigida, Astragalus kentrophyta ssp. implexus, A. hallii, Oenothera coronopifolia, Nuttalia rusbyi. Common and widespread.
