Flr
Oenothera cespitosa Nutt. ssp. marginata (Nutt. ex Hook. & Arn.) Munz, det. W.L. Wagner, August 2006. Flrs collected to measure petals. Petals 45-50 mm x 45-50 mm, obovate, equally long as wide, not truncate, apical sinus fairly narrow, distinctly diff. size & shape from O. harringtonii, collected in garden same time. Since both spp. develop stems under garden conditions, petal shape appears to be best diagnostic character. Orig. ID: O. caespitosa.
