Late snowmelt area & relatively well developed tundra on slope less than 20°, including Carex elynoides, Noccea montana, Penstemon whippleanus, Trifolium dasyphyllum, Cystopteris fragilis, Pseudocymopterus montanus, Valeriana edulis, Cerastium beering...; locally common but not widespread.

Flowers pale yellow; Lower Ordovician Manitou Dolomite.
