In fairly diverse herbaceous vegetation on formerly heavily grazed valley flat, on otherwise rolling landscape underlain by tuffaceous sandstone and conglomerate of the Tascotal Formation. Associates included Acacia constricta, Amaranthus palmeri, Aristida ternipes, Berlandiera sp., Boerhavia sp., Bouteloua aristidoides, B. barbata, B. curtipendula, Buddleja marrubiifolia, Chloris virgata, Cucurbita foetidissima, Eragrostis lehmanniana, Gutierrezia sp., Machaeranthera pinnatifida, Prosopis glandulosa, Salsola iberica, Solanum elaeagnifolium, Sporobolus cryptandrus, S. wrightii, Tidestroemia lanuginosa, Verbesina encelioides.
