Habitat:
Annual; stems prostrate; occasional on "bare" sand within sandsage - Havard oak - dropseed vegetation on low-hummocky topography on essentially level part of Holocene sand sheet. Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Artemisia filifolia, Bouteloua hirsuta, Brickellia eupatorioides var. chlorolepis, Calylophus berlandieri, Chamaesyce glyptosperma, Chloris cucullata, Cyperus schweinitzii, Dithyrea wislizenii, Eragrostis curtipedicellata, E. secundiflora, Eriogonum annuum, Helianthus petiolaris, Ipomopsis longiflora, Palafoxia sphacelata, Paspalum setaceum, Quercus havardii, Sporobolus cryptandrus, Thelesperma megapotamicum.
