Plants extremely viscid; corolla yellow, with purple-brown maculae; rare, locally abundant under trees Texas oak - Ashe juniper woodland on steep rocky +/- mesic N- and E-facing slope of Edwards Limestone. Associates include Aristolochia coryi, Berberis trifoliolata, Chaetopappa effusa, Chaptalia texana, Cheilanthes alabamensis, clematis texensis, Diospyros texana, Juglans major, Juniperus ashei, Matelea edwardsensis, Nassella leucotricha, Passiflora affinis, Quercus buckleyi, Q. fusiformis, Salvia roemeriana, Vitis berlandieri.
