Rocky canyon. Associated plants: Pinus ponderosa, P. edulis, Pseudotsuga, Ostrya, Arbutus, Acer grandidentatum. Height: 70 ft. D.B.H.: 18 in. Several trees in rocky canyon. Bark blackish gray, furrowed into narrow scaly ridges.
