Locality: United States, Texas, Crosby, US 82, 3 mi E. of Crosbyton. Bluffs just below w. summit of White River (Blanco) Canyon.
Habitat: Soil reddish sand. Plants very local, roadside, on steep, bare slopes. Plants strictly monocarpic, definitely taking at least 3, probably 4-5 years to flower and then drying completely. Flowers mustard yellow. Rosette from taproot.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
