Habitat: Saturated soil near spring and cattle watering troughs.
Associated Species: Prosopis velutina, Salix gooddingii, Celtis reticulata, Lycium exsertum, Muhlenbergia rigens, Cynodon dactylon, Clematis drummondii, Morus microphylla, Baccharis salicifolia and sarothroides.
Description: Perennial graminoid; woody horizontal rhizome; stems twisted; inflorescence appearing lateral due to extension of bract.
Notes: PAPAZ; duplicates to ARIZ, ASC, ASU, USON.
