Habitat: Rocky W-draining canyon in oak-mesquite grassland.
Associated Species: Prosopis velutina, Quercus oblongifolia, Populus fremontii, Ericameria laricifolia, Mimosa dysocarpa, Mimosa aculeaticarpa var. biuncifera, Eriogonum wrightii, Eysenhardtia orthocarpa, Disakisperma dubium, Muhlenbergia rigens, Eragrostis lehmanniana, Eragrostis intermedia, Aristida ternipes, Heteropogon contortus, Bothriochloa barbinodis, Typha domingensis, Baccharis salicifolia, Trixis californica.
Description: Small tree, 3 m; fresh trunk red-brown; leaves scale-like; flowers pink. Visited by bees, flies, and wasps.
